Jamie (Wachtel) Weiland grew up in Canton, OH.
She acquired her first camera at the age of twelve, and her first modeling agent at the age of sixteen. At nineteen, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a photographer.
She went on to work as a photo assistant, studio/gallery manager, producer, photographer, as well as a model/actor. Her proximity to great photographers allowed for an organic and truly incredible education.
In late October 2011, she was asked to be the still photographer on the set of Scott Weiland’s music videos. The two met, and her life was profoundly changed.
Their subsequent four-year relationship and marriage was documented, at length. The images she captured of him provide a narrative of what the legendary frontman was like in a way that fans had not seen, and never will again. The photos of his stage life, tour life, and home/behind-the scenes are a cumulative view of the essence of one of the greatest rockstars of our time.
In the years after his death, she has focused predominately on honing her talents as a painter, and Scott continues to be a prominent subject of her work. Her photography has been featured in countless magazines, including Rolling Stone and Billboard, as well as many other music-focused online presences, and Los Angeles art galleries.
She resides in Los Angeles with her son Wolfgang and two wonderfully insane pit bull rescues, Beatrice and Buckley.
